The PS5 could see a hugely anticipated PS4 exclusive also launch on it when the release date for Sony’s next console finally comes around.

The PS4 has been the best selling console of this generation, shifting 100million units since Sony launched the PlayStation 4 back in 2013.

Arguably one of the biggest reasons for the PS4’s success is its huge library of exclusive games.

From Bloodborne, to Horizon Zero Dawn, to God of War, to Uncharted 4, to Persona 5, to Marvel’s Spider-Man – the list goes on and on.

There is also plenty of other PS4 exclusives to look forward to, with Last of Us 2, Ghost of Tsushima and Final Fantasy 7 Remake all on the horizon.

And there’s one highly anticipated exclusive for the PS4 that could also be appearing on the PS5 when the next-gen PlayStation finally launches.

Rumours are circulating that Death Stranding, which is set for a PS4 release this November, could also be coming to the PS5.

A PS4 fan asked the account whether Death Stranding was an exclusive for the PS4.

And the account responded: “Currently, the only platform announced for the launch of Death Stranding is PS4”.

The tweet has since been deleted, with fans left wondering if it was a sign Hideo Kojima’s next game will be coming to other platforms in the future.

This is not the first time the Death Stranding has been linked with a cross-gen PS5 release.

Rumours were circulating back in April when Wired revealed the first official details on the PS5 following an interview with Mark Cerny.

At one point during the interview the PlayStation architect said the transition from the PS4 to the PS5 would be “gentle”.

This is because there would reportedly be “numerous” cross-gen games released for both the PS4 and PS5.

And Wired said that when they asked Cerny whether Death Stranding would be one of these cross-gen titles he simply smiled and paused.
